BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HND)

BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) have been at the forefront of cutting-edge professional qualification design. It is administered by Edexcel, which was formed in 1996 by the merger of the Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC), UK's leading provider of vocational qualifications, and the University of London Examinations & Assessment Council (ULEAC), one of the major exam boards for GCSEs and 'A' Levels.

BTEC HND (Business) is offered as a two year programme that is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in current or future employment, or for progression to an undergraduate degree. You will learn about trade proceedings in the commercial industry and understand the functions of marketing, management and finance. These will give you an edge in the Business environment and prospective employment.

You will develop literacy and numerical skills.
It is a global fast track to a degree. Upon completion of the BTEC HND, you can often be admitted into the second or third year of a related degree.
Upon passing all modules on the HND, you will be guaranteed a place in the third year degree study at Bradford School of Business & Law. Thereafter, you can look forward to a B.A. Business Studies (Honours) from the Leeds Metropolitan University, UK.
Alternatively, BTEC HND will also give you advance standing to other universities elsewhere in the UK, USA or Australia.
It is based on 100% external examinations.
Entry Requirement
1. Minimum age of 17 during the year of admission (Singapore/Singapore PR males must have completed their NS)
2. For Foundation Programme : minimum of 3 GCE 'O' Level passes or equivalent (including passes in English & Mathematics)
3. For direct entry to HND Programme : 1 'A' Level pass or equivalent
4. Students should have a score of 550 for TOEFL or 5.5 for IELTS to fulfill the English Language requirements. If students do not have these scores at the time of admission, they are given 6 months from the time of commencement of the course to obtain the scores.
